I asked a question the other day about hurricane forecasting, and I appreciate the answers. My family is planning a trip to the Texas coast (Galveston area) at the end of next week. I am not familiar with tropical storm/hurricane forecasts because I don't live near the coast. I just checked the National Weather Service's website, and I see that there is a high chance of a tropical cyclone developing near the Dominican Republic in the next 48 hours, and it is moving west/northwest. Can someone familiar with weather forecasting tell me what the likelihood of this storm (if it becomes one) hitting the Galveston, Texas area at the end of next week would be?
